Rainbow Challenge – Twin Communities on Human Rights

The Rainbow Challenge project aims to develop freely accessible, scientifically based methodology, and digital tools to educate EU youth and society about human rights, promote social inclusion, and empower activism initiatives at national and international levels. Through the utilization of these tools, the project endeavors to establish an international youth cooperation network focused on providing scientifically accurate knowledge about socially vulnerable groups and combating discrimination in society.

Objectives:

  1. Create scientifically based methodology and digital tools for human rights education.
  2. Increase social inclusion and empower activism initiatives.
  3. Establish a self-renewing international youth cooperation network.

Implementation:

  • Pilot cooperation initiatives on human rights education between 3 pairs of international youth communities.
  • Develop a self-sustaining network of cooperation to enhance social inclusion and emotional well-being.
  • Create activism-oriented digital intellectual products to inform the public about socially vulnerable groups and provide practical activism tools.

Results:

  • Creation of a network of youth cooperation following the pilot initiatives.
  • Knowledge dissemination and activism implementation among at least 60 youth aged 14-19 from Lithuania, Portugal, and Slovakia.
  • Implementation of at least 200 activist tasks using the project tools.
  • Transfer of experience to newly joined peers from the EU to ensure further self-contained development of the network.

Work package n°2 – Inclusion and diversity:

This work package aims to prepare scientifically based methodology about six groups of youth experiencing discrimination, provide youth with knowledge about these groups, implement practical initiatives, and develop a Personal Human Rights Index tool. The main results include creating theoretical materials, generating proposals for activism initiatives, and establishing youth groups focused on human rights activism.

Work package n°3 – Digitalization:

This work package focuses on digitizing three project initiatives, including the Twin Communities network, the Rainbow Challenge app, and the Personal Human Rights Index app. The main results include establishing a digital communication network, adapting the Rainbow Challenge app for project activities, and making the Personal Human Rights Index app available to the public.

Evaluation:

Various qualitative and quantitative indicators will be used to measure the achievement of work package objectives and the quality of results, including the number of participants, completed activism activities, app users’ activity data, and feedback from users and stakeholders. Evaluation will ensure the quality and relevance of project outputs and contribute to continuous improvement.
